Day 2 – Stumps
Play began on time with Tuskers resuming on 133 for two overnight, Tafara Mupariwa on 65 and Brian Chari on 40.
Chari soon reached his half-century but was run out by Timycen Maruma for 51 after facing 80 deliveries, leaving the hosts on 146 for three.
Mupariwa, who had anchored the innings with patience and composure, took his score to 81 from 169 balls before falling leg-before to spinner Vincent Masekesa at 182 for four.
That dismissal brought together Hamid and Madande, who steadied the innings with a composed unbroken stand worth 66 runs.
Hamid was measured in his approach, finishing unbeaten on 47, while Madande played with greater intent, contributing a brisk 41 not out.
However, after lunch, deteriorating light and threatening weather forced the players from the field, and play was eventually abandoned for the day with Tuskers well placed on 248 for four.
In Kwekwe, persistent rain meant there was no play at all on the second day of the other Logan Cup fixture between Rhinos and Southern Rocks.
Rocks had reached 202 for four on the opening day.
